My Pet Diaries – Cheya (Aired March 29, 2013)

The Diary of “Cheya” — 10 years old, Shepard mix, found in a box of an abandoned litter beside a trash dumpster with her brothers and sisters. There was 9 puppies in total & they all found homes.

Dear Diary

It was just two years ago that my dog, “Cheya” was crippled with brutal arthritis. Her back five vertebrae were encased in a brutal grip of arthritis. You could feel it when you touched her back, it was like touching gristle. The crunching noise her back made when she would limp over to get a drink of water was heartbreaking.

She had deep depression in her poor sad eyes and after multiple vet visits with no solid results I was contemplating putting her down.

I was just days away from making the call to have her put down when a friend of mine introduced me to an electromagnetic mat that changed our lives…

My Pet Diaries – Shabtaab (Aired May 16, 2013)

The Diary of “Shabtaab” from Iran

Dear Diary:

My dog Scout, a dalmatian, passed away in Jan/12. She was 14 years old and I had her since she was a puppy. I was pretty heartbroken. I didn’t think I would get another dog.

On a trip to NYC in Sep/12 I came upon a FB page for adopting dogs in Brooklyn and it got me to thinking that I might like to do that when I returned home to Vancouver. In late Sep I started to look around online and came across a few dogs that interested me, including Shabtaab. I didn’t know much about her except what had been posted online; the story of how she was a stray in Iran and was injured, then had surgery and then was looked after for about a year before coming to Canada. She was a dog that needed special care. She was sweet. I didn’t take her right away but I didn’t stop thinking about her either. I kept wondering if I was the right person to look after her.

My Pet Diaries – Lucy (Aired April 24, 2013)

The Diary of “Lucy” — 8 years old “Pug”

Dear Diary,
It’s true what they say, “You don’t choose your dog, your dog chooses you”. Lucy left no doubt that she was choosing us as her family in 2005. We were actively looking for a Pug to join our family and happened upon an ad in the local paper announcing five beautiful Pug puppies ready for their new families. Within days we were viewing these adorable pups. All five puppies immediately came to us, sized us up, and promptly went back to their business… All except one. This sweet, tiny little pup with a black spot on the end of her tail kept coming back to us. She was determined to come home with us, so much so that she tried three times to climb into my wife, Tiffany’s purse! With determination like that, how could we not take Lucy home? Lucy chose us and we couldn’t be happier with this beautiful little sweetie in our lives!

My Pet Diaries – Mr. Touloose (Aired June 27, 2013)

The Diary of “Mr. Touloose”

Dear Diary,

I was so fortunate to meet this wonderful dog Mr Tusik, and it was such a blessing that I was even able to keep him! I couldn’t imagine my life without him. So as you can guess, it was really hard to let him go when he passed away from illness. I didn’t think I would ever be able to love another pet the way that I loved him.

I believe that, just as in with humans, we can find pets who are our soul mates. And I believe that Mr. Tusik really was my soul mate. It is so hard to let go, and to even imagine bringing another pet into my life is unthinkable.

But I think Mr. Tusik had plans to help me….
